Pet charity shop’s plea for donations

Manager of PDSA store in Peterlee, Susan Curry appealing for more clothes and furniture.

ROTTEN weather is bad news for pets in East Durham.

Peterlee’s PDSA charity store is desperate for donations this winter to help fund the treatment of sick pets.

After the Christmas season the store usually sees a rush in people donating, but this year the “bad weather is putting them off”, said Susan Curry, PDSA store manager.

Donations can be taken to the store on Monday to Saturday, 9am to 5pm.

The store also offers a free collection service.

“We’re appealing for all types of items,” said Susan.

“Why not have a clear-out this weekend and donate your unwanted items to PDSA?”

Ladieswear, menswear, household items, home furnishings and books are all urgently needed.

The donations made to the PDSA store help to raise money for the veterinary treatment of pets.
