A MAN has died after an accident with a car this morning.
The pedestrian was killed in the accident Horden, on the A1086 around the Crossways Estate, at around 8am.
Paramedics tried in vein to save the man, but despite he was pronounced dead at the scene.
A spokesman for Durham Constabulary said: “At this stage the victim has not been identified.
“The road remains closed in order to allow officers from the forces collision investigation unit to conduct initial tests at the scene.”
The female driver of the car was said to be shocked but unhurt.
