RACING cycling returned to Durham City for the fifth year with the latest round of the Pearl Izumi Tour Series.
Crowds lined the streets of the historic city to watch the thrills and spills on the 1.4km course.
Several riders crashed on the cobbles of Crossgate but there were no serious injuries with most able to remount and carry on. One rider required treatment by paramedics.
The race was won by series leader Jon Mould of the NFTO Pro Cycling team, while Raleigh returned to the top step of the podium after an impressive showing.
Welshman Mould was involved in a thrilling final sprint with Graham Briggs for the individual victory, his second of the 2014 Pearl Izumi Tour Series.
