Passengers back on the bus route after changes row

PASSENGERS are on the move again.
People living were left feeling out of the loop when a popular bus route changed.
The route of the 38 bus service – which links Ashbrooke and Grangetown with the city centre - was altered in November to avoid Burdon Road and Holmeside.
But after residents raised concerns about the shift, operator Go North-East decided to get the service back on track.
A survey carried out by the bus company showed nearly 100 per cent of passengers wanted the original route re-instating.
Conservative group transport spokesman, Councillor Peter Wood, said complaints about the service had been gathering speed.
“I received a lot of complaints about the service no longer using Burdon Road and Holmeside as they were popular stops for shoppers, and I’m sure the reinstatement will be very welcome and prove popular,” he said.
“Full marks to Go North-East for listening to their passengers and responding so quickly.”
Martin Harris, of Go North East, said: “We always listen to feedback and comments from our customers to ensure that our services meet the needs of as many passengers as possible.”
