THE North East’s biggest gathering of military vehicles returns to Durham next week.
The rally takes place during the August bank holiday weekend in the grounds of the DLI Museum and Durham Art Gallery.
Now in its 41st year, the event will feature about 70 restored vehicles and pieces of artillery dating from the 1930s to the present day.
There will also be stalls, living history displays and dioramas as well as activities for younger visitors, including the chance to help make a large military vehicle out of cardboard and a miniature parachute or vehicle to take home.
Organised by the North East Military Vehicle Club, the event is open from 10.30am to 4pm on Sunday and Monday.
Outdoor displays and activities are free. Normal admission charges apply for activities in the museum and gallery.
