Take That tribute band, Re-Take That, were causing a bit of a stir on Fulwell's Sea Road when they stopped by to perform the official opening of the new St Benedict's Hospice Charity Shop.

A BAND ensured a shop’s launch date proved popular as they welcomed its first visitors.

Re-Take That opened the St Benedict’s Hospice store in Sea Road, Fulwell, ahead of the group’s concert in aid of the charity in the autumn.

The shop will raise funds which will help patients and their families as they are supported by the hospice in Ryhope, which marks its 30th birthday this year.

Derek Moss, chairman of St Benedict’s Hospice board of trustees, said: “People had wanted to help us by offering donations of clothes and furniture and they kept asking us when we were going to open a shop – so we thought it was time we had one.”

Another shop, solely dedicated to furniture, will open in Ryhope in two months’ time.
