A MEMORIAL service has taken place for a Peterlee woman found dead in the stairwell of a US hospital.
The body of Lynne Spalding, 57, was discovered earlier this month after she went missing from her room at San Francisco General Hospital while receiving treatment for a bladder infection.
A police investigation into her death is ongoing.
Following her death, she was cremated in a private ceremony on Monday, October 21. Ms Spalding’s two children and twin brother were among 150 people at a service held in San Francisco to remember her life.
Family spokesman David Perry said: “Lynne was remembered in a celebration of her life at St Aidan’s Episcopal Church in San Francisco. The ceremony was private.
“Lynne’s family wish to thank the warm and welcoming congregation of St Aidan’s during this difficult time of personal grief.”
