Meet Sunderland’s festive pets

Waiting for Video...

CHRISTMAS hats off to pet owners who have been the first to share their festive snaps.

Sharon Wood from Peterlee sent in a picture of her dog Woody at the foot of her family’s tree.

Pup Ringo – aptly dressed as a star – was photographed by his owner Becca Simmons from Tunstall.

Lauren Bennett, from Peterlee, sent in a photograph of her Lhasa Apso Maisey.

Ragdoll cat Tamsin, pictured by her owner Rebecca Hankinson from Sunderland, was found curled up in among the tinsel, while Maureen McInally, from Seaton, Seaham, took a picture of her 13-year-old cat Riley, who will be getting a catnip sack from Santa.

We are asking readers to send in their photos of family pets in the run up to Christmas and the New Year.

And the most festive pets will be in with a chance of starring in their own studio shoot.

We have teamed up with Village Photography in Hebburn, which will create a print for the first place pooch or kitty.

Send in your entries to fiona.thompson@northeast-press.co.uk and be sure to include your name, where you are from and a telephone number, along with the name of your pet.

Our judges will then pick the top 10 and ask readers to take part in a text vote for their favourite, with the winner to be announced in the new year.
