A TRIO of charities have each received a £1,000 boost following a day of golf.
Money raised from the Mayor of Sunderland’s annual charity golf day at Wearside Golf Club will go towards Action on Dementia Sunderland, NSPCC Childline and Age UK Sunderland.
Mayor of Sunderland, Councillor Stuart Porthouse said: “The weather was glorious and everyone who took part thoroughly enjoyed the day.”
A new Ford Fiesta Zetec was on offer to anyone who managed a hole-in-one on the day, but the grand prize went unclaimed.
Coun Porthouse added: “Our appreciation must go to Benfield Motors who helped sponsor the day and also provided excellent prizes. We expect to receive about £3,000 when all the other sponsorship is received.”
The winning team Benfield Ford One had a score of 55.9.
A raffle was organised by helpers from Action on Dementia and there are three unclaimed prizes tickets, 236-240, 371-375 and 386-390.
They can be collected by contacting the Mayor’s office on 561 1342/1330.
