A SUNDERLAND cook will be bringing a flavour of Masterchef to South Hylton.
Stacie Stewart from Roker, who has appeared in BBC’s Masterchef and ITV’s Food Glorious Food, will be hosting a pop-up restaurant at the Secret Garden Tearooms.
She’ll be whipping up a four-course tapas feast on Thursday and Friday at the Cambria Street eatery.
Kathryn Tatton, owner of the tearooms, said: “I went to school with Stacie and I got talking to her one day and asked if she’d be interested in doing a pop-up.
“She’s excellent at what she does and, as we’re usually a day time venue, it’s a chance for us to do something a little different. If it goes well we’d like to do more events like this.”
Since reaching the semi-finals of Masterchef in 2010, former PA Stacie has launched a successful cookery career.
As well as opening her own bakery and private dining business, the 32-year-old last year appeared as a judge in Simon Cowell’s cookery show, Food Glorious Food, and penned her own cookery book, Stacie Bakes.
• The tapas night costs £25 and there’s one sitting, at 7pm each night. For more information visit the tearooms.
