A MAN has appeared in court accused of possessing a banned pesticide.
Paul Unsworth of Newbold Avenue, Monkwearmouth, faces four charges relating to the chemical carbofuran.
It is alleged the 48-year-old was in possession of carbofuran between December 2006 and February 2012, contrary to the Plant Protection Products Regulations.
Sunderland magistrates committed the case to crown court and granted Unsworth bail.
