ONE business is hoping Sunderland will scoop a win tomorrow and has marked the team’s cup final place with a sweet treat.

Lickety Split, in North Terrace, Seaham, has been decked out in red and white flags and bunting as it launched special sundaes to mark the fixture.

Sunderland’s prize pudding features lashings of white chocolate sauce, strawberry and white chocolate ice creams, and white and chocolate strawberry pieces and is topped off with fresh cream and strawberry sauce.

Manchester City’s rival dish is made with fruity blue moon ice cream and has layers of fresh blueberries and covered in raspberry sauce.

A 50p cut from the sale of each will go to the Foundation of Light’s Red and White City campaign.

Carl Thompson, who runs the parlour with mum Cindy Bettcher, said: “With Sunderland going down to Wembley this weekend, we thought this would be a good way to mark it.”
