East Durham College’s Alison Scattergood has been shortlisted for the regional finals of a hunt for Britain’s Best Shave.

Alison, 40, will now go head to head with 14 other barbers in Manchester in March.

If she wins, she will then go on to the national final and compete against seven other wet-shaving experts in a speed-shaving tournament in Wales. The competition is being organised by male grooming brand Bluebeards Revenge and the British Barbers’ Association.

Alison said: “I have entered my students into many national competitions in the past, and they have always achieved amazing results, so now it’s my chance to compete against the very best barbers in the UK and see if I can come out on top.”

The winner will land the title of Britain’s best shaver, plus £3,000 worth of shaving products, and a starring role in an advert.
