INVESTIGATIONS are continuing into the deaths of an elderly couple found in Washington.
The bodies of Ken and Edna Fisher were discovered by a carer inside their semi-detached bungalow at Biddick Villas, Columbia, last month.
Detectives from Northumbria Police have said they do not believe anyone else is involved, although how the couple came to meet their deaths remains unknown.
An pre-inquest hearing will take place at Sunderland Coroner’s Court on May 28.
Shocked neighbours spoke of a “lovely, elderly couple” who lived in the quiet Wearside street for more than 30 years, where Mr Fisher, 76, was a carer for wife Edna, 74.
The Echo understands Edna, a former nurse at a family planning clinic, suffered from Parkinson’s disease and that her husband looked after her.
