Sunderland City Council leader Coun Paul Watson said the authority had been working with the firm to help make its plans a reality: “Parseq, with its hi-tech and bespoke customer services, is a very successful company and represents many blue-chip companies and household names.

“Announcements like this show Sunderland is open for business and we can, and do continue to attract jobs and new investment.

“In the last six years there has been more than £1billion of private and public sector investment in our city.

“The City Council has been speaking to Parseq about its expansions plans, and looks forward to working with the company so it achieves its goals and ambitions in Sunderland.” SAFC commercial director Gary Hutchinson, chairman of the North East Chamber of Commerce Sunderland committee, said: “This is great news for Parseq and our city economy, creating a huge volume of new jobs in what is an important sector for Sunderland.

“To have more than half of Parseq’s national workforce here in Sunderland, alongside the development of a centre of excellence in the city, is testament to the great people working for them and the amount of talent we have as a city coming through in this industry.”
