CHARITY bosses are holding an event to help people plan their own funeral.
Age Concern UK will stage the event at Washington Mind, in Washington.
Anyone attending will have the chance to talk to hear how the plans can remove some of the worry and stress of organising a funeral.
Age UK Sunderland offers a range of products and services tailored for elderly people, including travel, home and car insurance, a home energy package, legal services and funeral plans, which allow people to fix the cost of their funeral at today’s prices and remove the worry about future price increases and rising inflation.
They are designed specifically for those in later life and offer flexible plans and payment methods to suit different requirements.
Alan Patchett, director of Age UK Sunderland, said: “The rise in living costs and low interest on savings make planning ahead more important now than ever before. Taking out a Funeral Plan makes financial sense, as you’re effectively paying for your funeral at today’s prices.” The event will be held at The Light House, Grasmere Terrace, Columbia, on Thursday, March 27, from 9.30am to 11.30am.
