Christmas was transported back a century this weekend as Beamish Open Air Museum in County Durham opened its doors at night, giving visitors a taste of what Christmas was like back in the early 1900s.

CHRISTMAS past was brought to life for visitors to Beamish this weekend.

The Durham museum was turned into a winter wonderland to give people the chance to step into festive fun of bygone times.

Visitors could stroll around The Town Street, Pit Village, Home Farm and Pockerley Old Hall and see the festivities in full swing.
