A house which featured in the cult film Get Carter has been demolished.
Beechcroft, a 1950s detached property on the outskirts of Durham City, was used as the home of gangster Cliff Brumby in the film, which was set in 1971 and starred Michael Caine, above.
The house, in Broomside Lane, Belmont, has been knocked down to make way for new houses.
During one scene in Get Carter, Brumby, played by the late Bryan Mosely who also appeared in Coronation Street as Alf Roberts, returned to find a wild party being hosted by his teenage daughter and is later confronted there by Carter.
In the film, it is given the fictional location of Durham Road, in Pentiles, but in reality the two-storey house, which had an indoor swimming pool, was the home of the late Durham scrap businessman Charlie Newton and his family.
In March last year, planners at Durham City Council approved an application to build 12 homes on the land, despite objections from fans of the film and City of Durham Trust, a conservation group.
