FREE fun days have been organised to encourage Wearsiders to go green.
Sunderland Black and Minority Ethnic Network (SBMEN) hopes the Sustainable Sunderland Partnership will help residents cut their fuel bills and energy consumption.
Backed by the Big Lottery Fund, the three-year scheme aims to advise and support householders, families, community groups and businesses in Hendon, Millfield, Pallion and Southwick.
It will provide information on switching providers, tariffs and payment methods, adopting energy efficiency methods, and understanding environmental issues.
Free family fun days have been planned at Pallion Action Group, in East Moor Road, for Friday and at St Mark’s Community Association, in St Mark’s Terrace, next Thursday .
Both events, which take place between 1pm and 4pm, will include games, competitions, bouncy castles, face painting and African drumming.
