WEARSIDE is getting ready for the World Cup – and we want your photos.

The festival of football kicks off on Thursday when host nation Brazil take on Croatia.

England’s first match is on Saturday June 14 when we take on Italy at the Arena Amazonia, Manaus.

Bosses at Horden Labour Club are already flying the flag for the tournament with the Sunderland Road building decked with flags of all 32 nations competing.

The idea was masterminded by landlady Mary Pratt and her partner Gareth Lincoln.

Gareth said: “It looks good. We thought the regulars would like it. They are over the moon with it.

“We got someone to stitch them all together, they’ve done a great job, and we got them up safely.”
