First fan zone set up for Sunderland supporters
SUNDERLAND supporters are to get their first experience of a fan zone at the Stadium of Light.
Before Saturday’s match against West Ham United, the south east corner of the stadium will host an outdoor entertainment area from 1pm until just before kick-off .
The EA Sports Dug Out will be on site, where fans can challenge each other on electronic sports games, and the Foundation of Light will showcase activities including a speed cage and inflatable goal.
There will be an outdoor jumbo screen, which will show highlights, interviews and features from around the club.
Capital Radio will also host a roadshow with music, competitions and entertainment.
SAFC commercial director Gary Hutchinson said: “This is something completely new for the club and we’ve been keen to try it for sometime.
“We are always looking at ways to enhance the overall matchday experience for our supporters. Hopefully, the Fan Zone will help us to do just that.
“There’s something for everyone, and I’d encourage supporters to come along and have a look at it and enjoy the entertainment on offer.”
