RETIREMENT was the perfect prescription for a pharmacy worker who bowed out after 40 years.

Patricia Sedgwick, 63, has put on her lab coat at Hylton Castle’s Aschem for the last time.

Now the pharmacy technician, from Hylton Castle, is looking forward to putting her feet up, and spending quality time with her family.

Friend and Colleague Nicky Brown, said: “All the customers know her and she is well thought of in the community.”

“They have all been coming in and bringing her cards and presents. We are really going to miss her. She’s caring with the customers. She’s an angel.”

Nicky added: “We made a fuss and put some banners and things up for her last day.

“I’ve worked with her for 24 years, she’s like a mam to me.”
