NATURE-LOVING tots who hopped along to an outdoor haven enjoyed some Easter bunny fun.
West Boldon Lodge put on a thrilling Easter wildlife adventure for children visiting the lodge, which sits amid grassland, meadow, woods and water.
Youngsters made bunny masks, Easter cards and rocking chicks, and enjoyed a quiz with the chance to win a tasty treat.
Holiday activities also included an open day featuring an egg hunt, crafts, seed planting and lots more for all the family.
The complex, opposite the Quadrus Centre and the Cooper Sunderland Mini and BMW garage, on Newcastle Road, West Boldon, is managed by environmental charity Groundwork South Tyneside and Newcastle.
Executive director Andrew Watts said: “West Boldon Lodge is a great site for fun activities and holds some fantastic events for children and adults alike.
“It is a beautiful and very interesting location and children enjoy being outdoors in the fresh air, and learning and enjoying themselves at the same time. These fun days were great for the youngsters to relax and enjoy their Easter holidays.”
The lodge is a purpose-built environmental education centre set in 13 hectares of land, giving children a taste of the great outdoors all year.
As well as education programmes for schools, adults and families, it also runs community events, offers room hire and supports a range of volunteers.
