FAMOUS faces are to raise Sunderland International Airshow to new heights.
TV personalities Kate Adie, Larry Lamb and Lucy Siegle will make an appearance at the BBC World War One At Home Tour when it visits Seaburn this weekend.
The free event offers people the opportunity to reflect on the impact The Great War had on families and communities, as well as helping people to explore their own relatives’ links.
Visitors can volunteer to be put through their paces on an outdoor Parade ground, and make their own World War One At Home ID permit, to take away, in The Recruitment Office.
Actor Larry will host the Briefing Room on Saturday.
The former EastEnders star will present a series of talks with expert contributors, covering a host of World War One topics. One Show reporter Lucy Siegle will take over on Sunday.
They will be joined by Kate Adie, who will talk about the role of women during the war.
Larry, said: “I’m delighted to be taking part in BBC Learning’s World War One commemorative events around the UK this summer.
“As someone who finds history fascinating, I’ll be looking forward to learning more about how The Great War touched the lives of people both on the Home Front and on the battlefields of Europe.
“I’ll be talking to a host of well-known faces from the world of journalism, literature, and television and, together with a panel of local experts, we will discover what life was like during this unforgettable conflict.”
The Tour will be at the Airshow from 10am to 6pm on Saturday and Sunday.
