CASUALTIES had to be cut from a car wreckage after a collision
The accident happened at Bracken Hill Industrial Estate, Peterlee, shortly after 7pm.
The cars collided and the female driver of a Renault Scenic, and a male passenger, were cut free by fire crews using homatro cutting equipment.
Both were taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital for treatment to neck and facial injures.
The driver was injured from shattered glass.
The ambulance service attended the crash along with police, and the fire service special response unit.
A spokesman for the fire service said the male driver of the second vehicle, a black Renault Clio, was uninjured.
