Dog gets head stuck in railings in Peterlee

FIREFIGHTERS rescued a dog after it got its head stuck in the railings of its own cage.

A crew from Peterlee fire station rushed to an address in Spire Hollin in the town after the Bedlington Terrier pooch became trapped.

Officers used bolt croppers to free the dog, who was unhurt in the ordeal.

It happened shortly before 6am on Saturday.
