ROKER Park is set to be transformed into a specially-created family kingdom to keep little ones entertained during this year’s Sunderland Airshow.
Nestled away from the hustle and bustle of the main event area, the park will host a range of family-themed exhibitors, turning it into a playground of fun and colour.
Councillor John Kelly, Sunderland City Council’s portfolio holder for public heath, wellness and culture, said: “Each year at the Sunderland International Airshow we aim to have something fresh, new and exciting. This is both in the air and on the ground, and I think you’ll agree that this year is no exception.
“We continue to work closely with the organisers to give visitors a first-class affordable event, with many of the activities and entertainment being free.
“With companies like Disney, Haribo and FremantleMedia Kids & Family Entertainment wanting to be involved, along with the BBC’s flagship First World War exhibition and our regular exhibitors, it goes to show our event continues to go from strength to strength.”
On Saturday, Mim-Mim, from new TV show Kate & Mim-Mim, will arrive for some meet and greets before Cbeebies star Tree Fu Tom makes his way to Sunderland on Sunday. Disney will be dropping in as part of their Planes 2 Fire and Rescue Tour.
