IT was hair today, gone 15 minutes later for supermarket worker Dan Howe.

The Tesco’s duty store manager decided to lose his locks to raise for cancer charity.

Dan, 23, was volunteered by fellow workers at the supermarket in The Bridges shopping centre.

Money raised will go towards Cancer Research UK, which is Tesco’s chosen charity for 2012.

Speaking before the extreme haircut, Dan said: “I’m bricking it, but it is for a good cause.

“I’m going a bit thin on top anyway. It’s going to be done at the front of the store and they’ve got tannoys going out, so it’s going to be quite good. We’ve had lots of fundraising ideas and someone said, someone just needs to do it. Then they said, Dan will do it.”

A hairdresser from Tesco’s neighbour Super Cuts took care of the sponsored cropping.

Now Dan, who has worked at the store for six months, is about to jet off on a family holiday to Ayia Napa, but has not yet broken the news that his hair isn’t coming with him.

So far colleagues have donated £150 to see their boss go bald. The store hopes to raise £5,000 by end of February 2013.
