Caring and sharing students

Three pupils at St Bede's RC Primary School, Washington, put their creative skills to good use by making and selling crafts to raise money for homeless people.

Emily Smyth, Eva Formosa and Erin McNeil raised £130 to buy essential items for the homeless. Pupils were inspired following a visit by Andrea Wright from the Making Winter Warmer group.

Michelle McCormack, business manager at the school, said: “Our whole school took part in a range of activities and even made edible gifts and messages of hope to be distributed to the homeless people.

“It was an inspirational and very moving day.

“We are very proud of our children who embody our school motto ‘We care, We share, We help one another’.”
