FUN and entertainment was on the menu as older people celebrated National Care Home Open Day.

Barnes Court care home, Wycliffe Road, High Barnes, welcomed visitors as part of efforts to support residents and build wider links with the community.

Yesterday, members of the care team and residents took time to speak to guests and take part in activities and entertainment including a clothes party, sweet shop, before enjoying food from around the world.

Care home manager, Debbie Daniels, Said: “We feel the message of National Care Home Open Day is a really important one.

“As a home we believe it’s important to maintain close relationship with people from the local area to make sure our residents remain a part of community life. ”
