HISTORY buffs can learn about Wearmouth, Jarrow and Northumbria’s Golden Age in time at a free lecture.
The talk will be at Sunderland University in the Sir Tom Cowie lecture theatre, in the Prospect Building in St Peter’s Way.
It is on August 15 at 2.30pm, and will be delivered by Laura Sole.
Laura is the co-ordinator for the Wearmouth-Jarrow World Heritage Site nomination for Sunderland City and South Tyneside Councils on behalf of a wider partnership of organisations and was previously curator at Bede’s World.
She has been working on the nomination for 12 years, and has published on early Bede manuscripts.
The lecture lasts about one hour and visitors are asked to register at 2pm in the prospect building.
The lecture is part of a series of summer community lectures which are running.
Other lectures in the series include Rebecca William Dinsdale on How to Survive and Shine through Adversity, which will take place on September 5.
