A PENSIONER has died after he suffered multiple injuries in a car crash.
The 72-year-old man was driving a Peugeot 205 west on Broom Lane in between Neville’s Cross and Ushaw Moor, Durham, when it was involved in collision with a VW Bora heading in the opposite direction at 9.15am yesterday.
The incident also involved a Seat Leon and an Audi A3.
The Peugeot driver, who is from Durham, was cut free by firefighters and airlifted to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle suffering from serious head and leg injuries.
Durham Constabulary have confirmed he died this morning.
