DEVASTATED friends have released Chinese lanterns in honour of tragic Jordan Roberts.

Sunderland lad, Jordan, 17, of Downhill, died after getting into difficulty in the River Wear at Finchale Priory on Monday.

His older brother Callum, 19, remains in University Hospital of North Durham in a stable condition.

Pals of Jordan met at Downhill skate park, to pay tribute to the former Red House Academy pupil.

As well as releasing the lanterns, they have also set up a fund, with a target of £3,000, which will go to Jordan’s family.
