IT’S not cricket – but it’s great fun!

Durham Dynamos launched their Friends Life T20 campaign with a defeat against Warwickshire Bears.

Younger fans were winners with plenty of other entertainment.

A bucking bronco, inflatable assault course, slides, face-painting, fire engine rides and a golf challenge featured at the Emirates Durham ICG, at Chester-le-Street.

Echo digital editor Ian Laws, from Fulwell, took son James, nine, to his first cricket match and said: “He loved the cricket and the activities surrounding it.

“This shorter form of cricket is a great way to introduce kids to the sport, and the other activities were obviously a hit.

“The weather was glorious, too – James can’t wait to go back.”

The family fun events take place at all of Durham’s T20 home matches.

The next one is against Derbyshire on Sunday, June 12.
