Former Sunderland footballer Wayne Bridge has revealed what he's most scared of as he prepares to head into the jungle.

The ex-Chelsea, Manchester City and England star, who won 36 international caps, is one of the contestants in the latest series of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here.

Bridge had a loan spell at the Stadium of Light during a career which also included stints at Southampton, Fulham West Ham, Brighton and Reading.

Now 36 and retired, he has revealed what worries him most about spending up to three weeks in an Australian jungle camp.

Bridge, who is married to The Saturdays singer Frankie Sandford, said he is scared of "absolutely everything!"

"Rats, spiders, cockroaches, snakes, claustrophobia, sleeping in the jungle - I am bricking myself."

He added: "I want people to get to know me. I've not given many interviews in the past or put myself in front of the camera.

"My fellow footballers will be shocked I am doing something like this."

He reckons his role in the camp will be "to initiate games, fun and exercises."

Bosses of the show, which is hosted by Geordie duo Ant and Dec, promise there will be "a whole host of brand new nasty surprises" for the campers.

They have to compete in various stomach-churning challenges and Bushtucker Trials, and will have cameras monitoring their every move.

* I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here starts at 9pm on ITV on Sunday.
