A CYCLING strategy has been formed to help make riding on the roads safer.
Durham County Council spent eight weeks consulting, with most comments received about bike use in Durham itself.
Coun Neil Foster, cabinet member for regeneration and economic development, said: “We can all benefit in terms of improving our health and with increased pressure on household budgets, cycling offers opportunities to save money as well.
“We are also hoping that the action plan will promote greater tolerance and understanding between all those who use roads so we can all travel safely.”
The action plan will be discussed by the cabinet on Wednesday.
