DETECTIVES are hunting a hooded sex attacker who assaulted a teenage girl as she walked home.
The 15-year-old was returning from a friend’s house in Peterlee when she suffered what police have described as a “serious attack”.
The youngster was walking along a footpath at the rear of Cleveland Place, near Howletch Primary School, when she was approached by the man dressed in black.
She managed to fight him off and ran home, where her family called police.
Today, as police stepped up their search for the pervert, investigating officers issued an e-fit of the thug.
Detective Constable Chris Fixter, of Peterlee CID, said: “We are asking people to take a look at the e-fit in a bid to identify the attacker.
“This man has carried out a serious attack on a vulnerable young girl and we are asking for anyone with any information to contact police.”
The man is described as between 20 and 25, skinny and 6ft tall.
He had a thin pale face which was pock marked with acne.
He was wearing black tracksuit bottoms and a black hooded top, which was pulled over his head.
The incident happened at about 8.30pm on Thursday, March 15.
