Hay bales destroyed in Durham barn blaze
A fire has ripped through 300 tonnes of hay stored within a barn in Durham.
Two crews from Durham Fire Brigade are at the blaze after the alarm was raised around 4.30am, today.
The fire, which involves 300 tonnes of hay bales, is in a Dutch barn within the Hamsteels area.
Crews have requested the Environmental Protection Unit to attend and also have a ground monitor in use.
