FOR people with Jubilee overload, a bookseller has something to help.

Special sick bags, signed by designer Lydia Leith, are on sale in the People’s Bookshop in Saddler’s Yard, Durham City.

Owner Ben Sellers says the bags have become his biggest seller, but are not meant to be disrespectful to the Queen,

“I’ve had to order more in,” he said. “I’ve sold some in the shop and a lot more online.

“Sales have hit about 200, which is a lot for such a tiny shop.

“I am not being disrespectful, I wouldn’t hold a ‘stuff the jubilee’ party or anything like that, but I do think there is a question to think about when we are being urged to spend money on Jubilee goods and parties at a time when jobs are being lost and many families are short of money.

“I do think when choosing our ruler, there are other things to consider than whether she’s a nice old dear or not.”

l Stocks of the £2.50 bags are limited, to check availability, call 384 4399, or: www.peoplesbookshop.co.uk.
