A HOUSING group has rewarded a dozen tenants for helping shape its future for the benefit for all residents.
East Durham Homes presented the 12 with a Customer Excellence Award 2013.
Most Outstanding Contribution to Involvement as presented to Joyce Lovack, from Shotton Colliery, with Dennis Gilbertson, from Peterlee, given the runner-up award for his support to victims of antisocial behaviour and domestic violence.
Idea of the Year Award was awarded to EDH’s customer inspection and improvement panel for its recommendations for improvements which resulted in positive changes to the repairs service delivery.
Its members include Joan Zettle from Horden, Geoff Hodgson from Seaham, George Dowse, Ken Hall and Elizabeth Gibson, all from Peterlee, and Brian Smith from Easington Colliery.
The Special Achievement Awards, which recognise customers showing support while having decent homes refurbishment work carried out, were given to Angela Duell, from Murton, Sarah Harrison, from Wingate, and Wendy Christie, from Trimdon Station.
The Don Mercer Award was presented to Susan McDonell, from Peterlee, was presented with the award for her work with Acre Rigg Residents Association to improve the area.
