YEARS of history came crashing down as flats in a Wearside community were demolished.
Retired mechanic and keen photographer Keith McGraffin was quick with his camera as walls came tumbling down on the properties in Barmston, Washington.
“The pictures are probably unique as I was the only one there at the time,” said the 69-year-old, who lives in nearby Waskerley Road.
“None of the lads working on the site were taking pictures. I was lucky because if I’d been 30 seconds later I would’ve missed it.”
