The Sunderland Methodist Church Circuit members have been busy knitting the Life of Christ, representing the story of Jesus’s life from birth to Ascension. Margaret Wright, from Cleadon Methodist Church, visited North Street Methodist Church Silksworth’s Knitting for Giving Group to collect its contribution which was Martha and Mary. The complete story, along with hundreds of knitted angels will be commissioned at Humbledon Methodist Church’s Advent Service on Tuesday, December 6, 2pm. All will be welcome. The next knitting group meeting will be Saturday, November 19, from 10am to noon. All are welcome.
The Saturday Slimming World group has been so successful it now has two meetings one at 7.30am and the other at 9.30am in Ryhope Community Centre. For more information, contact Lisa on 07838 914068.
St Benedict’s Hospice, Ryhope, is grateful to everyone who supports it in whatever way, which enables it to enhance the care of its patients.The hospice is delighted and honoured to be working with Sainsbury’s Silksworth and Ryhope Coun Alan Emerson, this year’s Mayor of Sunderland, over the coming months. Alan has generously chosen St Benedict’s as one of his chosen charities during his term of office. Its Christmas card collection along with a wide range of reasonably priced Christmas gifts for all ages are now on sale in the Gift Shop. Pop along to the Café for a reasonably priced snack. Ryhope Engine Musuem’s next free steaming event will be on Saturday and Sunday, October 29 and 30, form 11am to 4pm. There will also be a classic car event on the Sunday.
The next meeting of Church View Patient Group will take place at Church View Medical Centre, Silksworth, at 5.30pm on Wednesday, October 26. The speaker will be Kelly Wilson, from Healthwatch, giving a small talk about PPGs and how to recruit new members. This will be followed by the AGM. Refreshments will be served at the beginning of the meeting. All patients are welcome.
