CHARITY bosses are helping people plan their own funeral.
Age UK Sunderland is holding two information events over the next few months.
The first will take place on Monday, September 29, from 9.30am to 11.30am at Washington Mind, based at The Life House, in Grasmere Terrace, Columbia. A second will be held on Thursday, October 9, from 9.30am to 11.30am at the Bradbury Centre, Stockton Road, Sunderland.
People going along can talk to an experienced member of the Age UK Sunderland team and hear how planning ahead can remove some of the stress around organising a funeral.
The Age UK Funeral Plan allows people to fix the cost of their cremation funeral and helps lift the worry about future price increases and rising inflation.
Alan Patchett, director of Age UK Sunderland, said: “The rise in living costs and low interest on savings makes planning ahead more important now than ever before. Taking out a funeral plan makes financial sense, as you’re effectively paying for your funeral at today’s prices.”
