WHAT a sight for sore eyes the category winners for the Echo’s Bonny Baby contest are.

They are all beauties, but only one can win the overall crown.

Winner of the up to 18 months old category is Jakey McIntyre.

Jakey, one, from Hendon is a natural in front of the camera and loves the limelight.

His mother Lisa Hendry, 23, said: “I was overwhelmed that he won his category because of the amount of kids that entered.

“My friends and family were going on saying I should enter him and I’m glad I did.

“He’s absolutely gorgeous. He has lovely natural features and loves the attention on him all the time.”

Terrific toddler Sebastian Suddick, 22 months, from High Barnes, scooped the 18 months to three years category,.

His mother Sarah Jobling said: “We were surprised when we found out he had been shortlisted out of all the cute toddlers in Sunderland, but when we found out he had won his category we were very proud parents indeed.

“In all honesty, we were just looking forward to receiving a nice set of prints from the photographer.”

She added: “Obviously we are biased but he is very cute with his cheeky half smile and people always comment on his lovely hair.”

Our third finalist, and only girl in the last three, is Alesha Anderson.

The three-year-old, from Ashbrooke, won over judges of the three to five years category.

“I was gobsmacked,” said her mam Debbie, 24.

“She has only recently started to like getting her photo taken so I thought I would taker her along.

“She is over the moon and I’ve kept the paper – I won’t ever be getting rid of that.

“She’s just lovely, she really stands out and I know everyone says it about their kids but I think she’s absolutely beautiful.”
