A group of festive characters were under starter's orders, today, as they took part in a running club's first Santa fun run.
Elves and Santa's took to the roads of Washington to run the three-mile route from Biddick Academy to the Cross Keys pub for charity.
The event was organised by runner Angela Rathbone in aid of Hope4kidz.
It is the first Santa fun run the Washington Running Club has hosted since it was re-launched last October.
Angela said: "We are really pleased with the turnout. And I'm already planning our Easter Bunny run...."
