l Was the Executive Practice Manager Lead for the Sunderland Clinical Commissioning Group between 2012 and 2016.

Yet despite all of that she said she was “taken aback” that a patient had put her in the running for an award.

The nomination said: “She always greets ss with a smile and nothing is a trouble for her.”

It praised Gloria for her “unstinting care and concern.”

But modest Gloria said: “I do it to give something back. If I can help someone, why not?”
