A team of care home staff from Sunderland put the fun into running.

Staff from Barnes Court in the city showed their support for Cancer Research by taking part in the Race For Life 10K run in Herrington Country park on Sunday.

Catherine Simpson, a nurse at the High Barnes care home, along with care assistants, Claire Tuckwell, Joanne Robins, Andrea Christie and Laura Adams, raised more than £500 in sponsorship money which will go towards the life saving work of Cancer Research UK.

Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life is a series of women-only events raising money for research into all 200 types of cancer.
