More than 100 new NHS nurses are being recruited by one of the region’s care providers.

Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust (NTW), the region’s mental health and disability care provider, is looking for 120 qualified staff to work across South Tyneside, Sunderland, Northumberland, North Tyneside, Newcastle and Gateshead.

The nurses will work at hospitals as well as in a number of community roles and recruitment starts on Monday.

NTW’s nurse director Anne Moore said: “We have many rewarding positions in inpatient and community roles and are keen to talk to those who are hoping to make a fresh start and
continue their career with us.

“We provide a wide range of career opportunities in the fields of adult and children’s mental health, disability and general nursing covering an area from Durham to the Scottish Borders and from the coast across to Cumbria.”

Information about vacancies, including those with children and older people, are available via the NHS Jobs website.

More details about the work of the trust can be found via its own wesbite, www.ntw.nhs.uk

Its units include Rose Lodge in Hospital Drive, Hebburn, which is a specialist centre for the assessment and treatment of people with learning disabilities.

It offers inpatient care and has 12 beds, with the centre used as a base for health care professionals including nurses, doctors and therapists.
