WORK is continuing on a £5million multi-storey car park at Sunderland Royal Hospital.
The development, which is at the Kayll Road side of the hospital, is expected to be finished within the next three months.
Trust bosses said that the three-storey site will provide almost 400 extra spaces, making a total across the site of 1,670.
Builders from Vinci Construction started at the begining of this year, with most of the parking spaces at the Kayll Road end out of use while the work is carried out.
A spokesman for City Hospitals Sunderland, said: “Completion is due in September and will make a major contribution to improved access for patients, visitors and staff.”
