CUSTOMERS who use a Wearside pharmacy to remedy their health problems have given it the seal the approval.

Penshaw Pharmacy is the latest nomination for our Best of Health Awards 2014.

The pharmacy has been given a nod in the Customer Service category, and staff now have their fingers crossed that they will scoop the gong.

The customer who nominated the business said: “All the staff at Penshaw Pharmacy are most helpful and pleasant.

“They collect and deliver prescriptions at short notice, urgently with no problems at all.

“Nothing is too much trouble for them – Peter the delivery driver is especially helpful.

“Well done to a pharmacy that offers a first-class service to patients.”

Manager of the pharmacy, Jaz Singh, said: “We’ve been in charge here for about a year and a half and for us, it’s really nice to get some positive feedback from our customers.”

Our glittering awards night takes place on Thursday April 3, at the Stadium of Light.

Echo readers or colleagues can still nominate Sunderland health workers for a Best of Health Award across a range of categories, including Best GP Practice, Hospital Doctor of the Year, Community Team of the Year and Carer of the Year.

Patients, customers or colleagues can nominate people they think they deserve recognition for going the extra mile in their daily work.
